Smile My do it yourself hydro setup (my first hydro gro)
Well I wanted to try out hydro growing and had a small GH farm I bought so I figured why now build my own as cheap and efective as possible.

here is what I came up with, input is very welcome!!

Item: (ALL FROM WALMART)
1 10Gal Tub (with lid) $3
1 aqua air pump ??? already had
hose $2.77
2 bubble stones $1.77ech/3.54

I took the lid and cut 2 holes for the plant baskets to go. Under the handles there was already 2 holes that were perfect for the air hose to go though and it's down hill from there. I already had the air pump new in box but other than that the setup was a grand total of just under $10.

I used the baskets and hydron from the gh farm (you would have to of course get those as well).

I'm going to fool around with building a few others. Any ideas please comment!

Try lining the edges of the holes with water proof tape. It will make the pots fit more snug, and help block out more light.
Also, see what you can do about making the holes for the net pots a little cleaner. So next time use a razor blade. A razor will cut through that plastic container like butter.

Other wise, great job. That will get the job done for sure. You could use that same setup as a cloner. Get another lid for that container and cut out some smaller holes in it to hold the styrene inserts and the plants. The bubbles will create an aeroponic effect.

The "stones" are called Hydron,
it's clay pebles.
I got mine with my GH water farm, same with the nets, they aren't the best but they should work for now.
I got the water farm at my local grow shop, it was the only hydro anything they had and I'm a noob and bought it.
walmart doesn't sell any hydro medium that I know of, some of them have some net type planters that will work, if I see one at one next time Ill take a pic for ya.
The pics are how my setup is currently, I have my hands full right now with all my other soil grows.

Im so fucking stoned its great umm
I have to see my probation officer tomorrow ohh boy!!!!
hehehe
not for anything drug related so no bigs there.
anyways, u got any pics of yoursetup? Id def B up for seeing.
It seems to work pretty well if you look at my album its there in gro 3
I put some worm poopies in it too.

personally. If you can get that stuff locally go for it. If not, I highly recommend http://htg-supply.com/.

Good cheap prices, and everything you could ever ask for when dealing with hydroponics.

They even have a 119$ 400w ballast bulb and reflector combo. It's what I use now. Best 120 I ever spent.
