Default Ebb & Flow Setup
hello grow fans. after my aerogarden and dwc grows, ebb & flow now follows.

the storage crates came after about a month , so i now have my flood n drain system up and running. it will hold 15 plants in 600x400mm crates, each in 100x100mm square pots. i will be doing runs under a single 125w cfl over the next couple of months cos the weather is hitting mid 20c. hps would be too hot.

grow medium i'm using is diahydro. very impressive stuff. i'm also using it in the propagator.

atm i have 2 blue cheese and 3 bag seed (smells like cheese as well) in flower for 6 days and the same again in the propagator. all clones btw from the two mothers i've got going.

pics attached .

i will have to do a rez change tomorrow tho, ph has gone up beyond acceptable range (i.e. my tester is going blue).

nutes have been on half doses so far.

Is it time to change the res? why not adjust the pH?

And I run my res at 1400 ppm from day one to harvest... but they are ALL clones with roots...

May I suggest you save and get a continuous ppm/ph meter like the hanna grocheck I use...???

Much more reliable and the fact that the tips stay in the res and do not dry out means that your probes will last 10X longer than the pen style meters...

Looking good Bro!!!!

I am glad to see a new thread!!!

hiya mammath. i pulled this from the diahydro website.

Introducing Diahydro™ Diahydro™ consists of the fossilised shells of algae (diatoms) that lived millions of years ago. Diahydro™ is produced from natural earth of a fresh water source. Products containing saltwater diatomite can contain high levels of impurities which significantly reduce the positive characteristics of Diahydro™ , by clogging the diatoms and reducing absorbency potential. Diatomite is extremely high in Silica (87-94%), an essential component for the growth of plants and strengthening of cell walls.
  • 100% natural.
  • High silica content (87-94%).
  • Super absorbency (150% of own weight in water).
  • Optimal thermal conditioning at the root level.
  • Protection from crawling insects.
  • Chemically Inert.
  • PH neutral (6-7).
  • Does not agglomerate due to multi-faceted structure.
  • High cation-anion exchange (CEC*) of 42.
* (CEC): High Cation Anion Exchange.A higher CEC means a medium will pass nutrients to plants roots easier and more effectively.
