Default Hanna Primo TDS
I'm just a newbie and don't know much. My experience has been wierd though. I bought one on eBay. Wouldn't calibrate so sent it back for a replacement which worked for a week or so then the read out started jumping all over the place and at different times the read out would flash E52 and wouldn't turn off but no one seems to know what error code that is. Thought maybe the eBay place had seconds.

Called Hanna and they told me it was their most dependable inexpensive TDS and they sold a lot of them.

I am currently waiting for my third Primo to be returned to me, but this time directly from Hanna, so hoping it will work as well as they say it should. It does have a 1 yr warranty, so for me the bad part has being without one for the time to have it mailed, replaced, and returned. That probably doesn't help much????

Also found out that the info sheet doesn't tell you a few things. There are min and max lines on the probe and I believe the instructions also tell you not to put it in the water above the max line (they're NOT water proof.), BUT to calibrate you have to cover the hole that is ABOVE the max line with water for it to read the TDS correctly. Why that isn't in the instructions, I can't imagine as it can make a lot of difference. Think you need to cover that hole also when doing a read out or Hanna said to wiggle it around in the water to remove any air. If you don't, you won't get a correct reading.

When it was working, it was easy to use and I liked it. Hoping for me 3rd times the charm!

You just stick it in the solution and read it. I have one, I just calibrate it everytime I use it. Never had any problems. Cheap too...practically disposable.
