This is my first hydro grow and Im using the bubbleponics 6 cup system. I got the hydroponic grow big from fox farms that Im using as my base nutrient. right now Im running 700 ppm and im using some white widow skunk clones.

My question is: Can the big bloom be used for hydro? It seems like it has particles and sandlike stuff in there. Ive heard of filtering it out first, Is this needd? I dont want to clog the pump or anything. The guy at the hydro store said grow big was all you need as a base. I guess Im looking for some wisdom from any one that has used fox farms for hydro.

Yes it can.

The particles won't hurt the pump, but if your concerned about it, you can always get a filter bag to place around your pump.

I use the foxfarm trio in my hydro setup, and have gotten great results thus far.
