I'd really appreciate some help with this guys.

It's not designed to be a which is better thread, I'm just wondering which you've used in the past and would be interested to know.

Some of the brands are the same thing, e.g. sunmaster is a trademark of venture, so I've put them next to each other.

I use the sunleaves pulsar two way mh/hps mini 400w with hortilux bulbs.

Works great for the space I have.

It might have been interesting had you added another option and that being a generic bulb.

I have tried three of the bulbs you listed above and in the end could not find a noticeable enough difference where I felt confident that it could be attributed to the bulb alone or even in part.

I have read the advertising copy for each bulb and they all tend to make their super duper high-falutin bulb appear to do everything but put the cat out for you at night.

I have also read tests where some, not all but only some, of those listed were compared to basic generic bulbs and the differences were negligible at best. Because of that when considering the price difference I fail to see them as being good values.

Still some people swear by a certain brand of bulb and will say it makes all the difference in the world but I have yet to see such a dramatic difference from any brand of bulb.

I've seen a hortilux side by side with a cheapo. The growth difference was very noticable.

i really like hortilux,have tried the silvania tho but it was a smaller bulb..

how much are the hortilux 600w hps and mh going for? i would only need 1 600w hortilux in a grow tent wouldnt i?

i have a mix of t5ho, t8's and t12's on my veg room and 1x 1000w hps hortilux on the flower side... i still use the hps for vegging the bigger plants and they grow incredibly fast!!!!! next setup i won't be buying daylight t5's and stuff... only hps!!!

you left our my new Solarmax. theyre relatively new to the scene but i like them so far.

i have also used philips agro and hortilux eye's
