Default 6" x 6" Square Pots Too Small?
Would 6" x 6" square pots be too small for a sea of green setup on a 5' x 5' tray using loose Rockwool in the pots and ebb and flow setup? I figured with 6x6 pots I could do 2 plants per square foot for about 50 plants on the entire table. Trimming the lower 1/3 of the plants and providing light from a 600w HPS on a light mover. The plants would be about 2 - 2.5 feet tall by harvest.

it's a 4 x 8 table. those are 6 x 6 rockwool cubes. he had 40 on the table but i fell 60 would fit just fine. it looks to me like there is plenty of room for more plants.

Yeah, if that is his usual spacing, then he is wasting a lot of light. In a sog, there shouldn't be any light hitting the medium, it should be blocked by the dense foliage. Those 6" blocks would be better placed almost touching each other, packed closely together with just a small space between plastic wrappers.

You'll be better suited to an ebb&flow system with the pots of loose rockwool. Those 6" blocks are best used in a drip.

they make 8x8 square mesh pots for ebb/flow that I use for my 2x4. Perfect spacing leaves you with a little room for separation.

Got them at my local hydro store. g/l
