Default Can gravel, crshed brick, or ?? be used to as media without anything else?

I used aquarium stone in my first DWC.. Stone brick gravel are all the same make sure you rinse well

no rockwool or any other media at all? How does this work with holding the roots and such like rockwool does?

Also, what nutrients would I need to add to the water? Any do it yourself laying around the house stuff? lol

use gravel for medium, you can root cuttings directly in the gravel, i'm sure you know you need net pots; and as for nutes....

superthrive (additive, not a fert)
general hydroponics 3-part
cal mag
mollasses

that's about as cheap as your going to get and still do a good job. you'll also need a digital ph pen and a tds/temp pen

mollasses is the black gold of growing babe liquid karma and others; mostly blackstrap. skip the expensive additives, and go with good ol organic blackstrap mollasses.

rooting cuttings in gravel is simple. it's done in dwc, or a bubble bucket. you put the slips in the medium, and place the pots in the dwc, and in a week-4 weeks, you'll have roots.

edit: you don't even need a rooting agent if using this method or aerocloners
