it depends on ambient room temp and how often you'll at least have the flap/door open.
you really do need ventilation...and a passive intake so that you can bring in fresh co2 laden air for your girlies.
the fans just blow around whatever's in the room...know-whatta-mean?
but they are great to have

Ventilation is priority #1 in any grow. Ventilation removes heat from lighting and humidity from water transpired by plant leaves. Proper ventilation moves the volume of the room's air in about 3 mins max and has thermostatic control of the fans. Leaving a door on a closet partly open is not sufficient. Air must be forcibly moved out of the space; intake can be passive or can use an intake fan. Exhaust blowers should be mounted high to take advantage of warm air rising, intakes down low to create a cross-flow so all air gets moved out periodically.

If you can't ventilate a given space, you will need to remove heat & humidity with aircon and introduce CO2 from a tank. Chemical reaction CO2 methods are unpredictable on a good day. Easy to drop $2000-3000 on aircon and a CO2 system. Naturally, finding another space you can ventilate is much cheaper.

A freestanding wardrobe about 1.8m tall x 1m wide by ~600mm deep can make a very fine grow space and can be ventilated into the air of the room housing it. That room can have a window cracked open an inch or two.

CFLs may make less heat than HPS but you won't like the result from flowering with them. Choose a small HPS for your wardrobe, a 250 is good. A cooltube will help keep temps down.

A mickeymoused CFL grow in an unventilated closet will simply fail. You will have temp problems, notably excessive stretch. The low intensity light from CFLs will give you thin, fluffy buds.

Do it right and you'll have more dense, frosty buds than you can smoke.
