im growin 2 plants in my closet i have mylar put up around the and im only useing 2 24" fluoresent tubes they r groing fine for now but they r only a week old.....when budding time comes around am i going to need a hps or will some more fluoresents be good enough for 2 plants?

HOw much money are you willing to spend? Do you have ventelation in your closet? Meaning, if you used a light that produced a lot of heat, would you have a heat problem?
Depending on how long you are trying to veg your plants for, you might need to add a couple more lights during the veg period.

For flowering you could buy a bunch of 42 watt cfls. The more you use the better results you will have. If you go with an HPS, you can get better results, but you will need proper ventilation in your closet.

More information is needed like ventilation, room dimensions, room temps.But if you dont mind spending the money I would get an hps. A 250w hps will be fine for 2 plants. If you dont want to spend the money on the hps then next best is using CFLs they are much better than the standard tube flourecents but they also tend to not grow real dense buds. In any event I would replace the tube flouros with compact CFLs for the veg period. I hope this helps.

I get an hps either 250 or 400 preferable a 400 in case you ever wanna go to maybe 6 plants difference in money will be minamal bewtween the 2 lights now.Im not a cfl fan and would rather use the flor tubes to veg myself they work fine maybe add a second set though for 8 bucks.The cfl seem to make plants stretch and make bud sites spacey.

I too grow in my closet.The closet is 8'long 8'high by 2'wide.I have put a air condition vent in the there and I exhaut the hot air from my 400 watt HPS cool shade with a 200 cfm fan into the attic.Before The HPS I used 4 two tube 40watt 4 feet long shop lights.It takes longer to grow and the plants stretch alot to get the light they need and the buds were small.I now veg under 4-32 watt fluorescence four to six weeks then to the closet.I'am building a large wardrobe cab,with one side divide for seeds and clones and all the elec and fan and the other side for the 22"x22"x7" ebb tray with 15 gal res.I plan to veg under Mh and flower in the closet.Heat is the biggest problem in a closet.Two plants in the closet with a 400watt HPS and good ventilation and the right nutrs and you can get about two or three oz per plant if everthing is done right.It much better than flo lights. Well that's my take on it. Peace
