i just changed my water in my tank 2 days ago and now i have algae what should i do i washed the roots with clean water should i change water again and wash out tank or is there something esle i should do

Make sure there are not any light leaks and then treat with hydrogen peroxide... search forum for schedule.

My First Grow

Algae will grow on wet surfaces that are hit by light. Hydrogen Peroxide will kill the algae that you have, but what you need to do is cover those areas so the light no longer hits it.

If you use drugstore H2O2, the 3% kind, then mix it in water at 15-20 ml/liter.

I'm using Dutch Master Gold Grow Nutes and it says not to use H2O2 with them. I'm not sure if I have algae so I'm not going to anyways. There seems to be some brown stuff on my roots. Not really sure what it is

Algae is a green plant, it grows on wet surfaces when there is enough light.

Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) will kill it, and other pathogens, as well as some good organisms that you may be providing your plants.

If you have anything that is growing on roots or surfaces that is slimey feeling, then that is a fungus or bacteria that is harmful. Some nutrients/additives will discolor roots, but if they feel slimey, and pull apart easily, then there's trouble.

algae has to have light to grow its a plant just like marijuana. If you can't use H202 which is by far the best way to treat algae and I use it to prevent it with great success than you MUST block the light from the water. If you don't treat this problem aggressively its possible it could blossom in the nutrient water and kill you plants faster than a bong hit
