Ok...so I raise 3-5 ladies per grow. Could I freeze my trimming in blocks of distilled H20 to store for 4-8 months until I have 2-3 grows worth for a larger bubble hash making session?
In cooking, you can do a similar technique to avoid freezer burn. Example: I freeze leftover chicken in chicken broth for use later. Never any freezer burn and tastes awesome. For the trimmings, I thought I could just thaw the blocks in buckets then pour them into the bubble bag buckets and start. Plus, I could mix several strains in one batch. Let me know your thoughts...would this work?

Sounds like a winner if you have enough freezer space. As long as you use the original water for the hash. Man trikes will certainly fall off in the water. I would research the effects of freezing on thc potency, might be some problems there.

Thanks...I was thinking the same thing. I know the distilled water would provide a pure medium, trichs would come off but could still be salvaged, etc...and I was wondering what the freezer would do to it.
I was hoping it would preserve them in a sort of suspended animation...sounds corny...but it was all I could think of... Anyway...anyone have any thoughts on possible degradation?

I've frozen bulk fan leaves and trim before for about 3-5 months, but didn't do the block of ice tech like you. You should be fine.
You won't suspend the life of the plant cells in the green trim. Those will die. However, that doesn't matter because you're aim isn't to harvest live cells. |

sounds like it might work out just fine. I just wonder if freezing in water will make that much of a difference compared to packed jars of 100% dry trimmings in the freezer. might be just as good, and easier. Worth doing it just for the experiment factor alone though!

I say try it out, and give us results. I mean theoretically it sounds great. But I don't know the scientific breakdown of this process, so I couldn't tell ya. But like I said sounds good, efficient, and convenient.
