ahoy ahoy... i couldn't find an answer to this in the faq so I'm hoping some of you more experienced growers can lend a hand. I recently picked up a 60-100x magnification lense to examime my crop and have found that on 2 of my 5 girls the top colas are already 50+% amber but the lower colas are around 5-10% amber. I am debating cutting off the top colas that are near their peak and starting the dry/cure process with them. I expect the rest of the plant to slow down production while it heals the wound, but once that is completed will the plant then begin again to develop the other colas? It that is the case I understand that the rest of the product would take longer than normal... but the end result could be all buds at a near 50-50 ratio (ideal!) Or instead will the result be that the plant freaks out from the wound at the top and ceases all further development for good?

I have been very patient throughout this whole process (to my suprise) and want to make sure I get the most potent total product possible since I made every rookie mistake along the way and have less than anticipated bud sites throughout my 5 girls.

From what ive read, people often chop the top cola to allow the lower branches to fill in some more. maybe experiment with one plant and see how it compares to the rest?

tops usually finish before the lowers so yes you can take the top cola and leave the rest to mature.
