If you do end up w/ a radioshack mini-microscope (60-100X, I think this is what MrX is talking about) take small upper-leaf cuttings from a few locales on the plant, then set them on something, like a saucer, and have a look. Practice focusing on something else tiny to avoid manhandling your trichs while trying to see what's up. These scopes are a little tricky, but work well with the material removed from the source. Otherwise, the normal shaking of the human can make it really un-fun and frustrating. Had to learn this the hard way myself.

first grow i even did, i just took the 60x glass and set it on the table upright, and placed the buds infront of it, with white paper in the backround worked great.

Im also on day 62 and I have way too many opaque and clear trichomes to harvest. I wait untill allare at last 10% amber and the rst milky white.
The strain(skunk #1) is supposed to hve a 60 day flowering cycle.

The real skill is in being able to harvest for the high you want without using any microscopes at all. Dosen't matter if you want couchlock or an up high. I have sampled my own stuff 3 weeks before it was "ready" - it got me about as high as rest of the plant three weeks later. I think the window for harvest is much bigger than most people think.

After years, there's a smell a grower senses that's always right on the money.
Just like almost any fruit, vegetable, etc . . . it's just something time will give the dedicated enthusiast.
Had I not stopped by RIU, I'd have not seen the X amount of "ya gotta see the trichs" posts and definitely would not have spent any dough on this RadioShack hobbie scope.
The window of perfection is probably quite a bit wider than many realize, however one can always grow it longer, but can't grow shorter, so keeping an eye on things (trichs) isn't a waste of time, especially if your only reason to grow the strain you're growing is related to the buzz you 100% expect.

The skunk #1 (the pure) yeilded 2 oz. for 1 plant. I had 4originally and 3 turned hermaphrodite. They smell a little like puke or stomch acids. hella weird smell.
