Howdy - I know many of you at one time or another find the need to quick dry a bud or two for testing, or an emergency buzz. I also know doing so must decrease the potency somewhat. I've got a couple methods I've tried over the years . . . you know, envelope in the oven on 180* . . . and so on. I nuked a piece the other night and it just got destroyed, not so much by heat itself, but like always in the micro-wave, one can hear the trichs exploding, or whatever they're doing . . . I'm talking 6 second blasts.

Anyway, I'd like to hear some of ya'll's methods you've come up with, as I'm just fixin' to smoke a little, 2 day hangin' in front of a fan, not very dry, bud as soon as I post this.
I'm aware of the in a pilot-lit oven overnight/for hours method, of course the wasteful micro-wave method, and the ballast method.

I think the best way for quick dry is to make a box IE..wood,plastic w/e you can get then have a soft fan blowing on one side with the air venting out the other side. If the buds your drying are only popcorn buds and are small they will be dry enough to smoke over night with decent taste.Heat and light ruin thc so dark cool air is best. also be sure to remove as much stem and leaf as possible as they hold water and will make the drying process longer.

I ended up drying the sample upstairs in my grow room, with a fan blowing on it. It's 70*-85* in there (yes, I know about heat degradation) and it still took 4 full days. Very delicious and my-oh-my, what a wonderfully active head-stone. Absolutely great.
FINALLY getting a few things done around here, things postponed while couch highed.

"If you can wait for it grow, then you can wait for it to dry and cure" I remember my first time i dried them using fans, lights and microwaves...so trust me when i say drying and curing is very important

when i wanted to sample a bit i use my room light there is a spot right behind the bulb that you can sit it and dry. it takes about 5min. the smoke was good not harsh at all.

The best quick dry is the Ronco Food Dehydrator put your herb on there for a bit (few hours) make sure its not too dry (just the top) then i say let it sit overnight so the moisture thats in the inside of the buds goes out and makes it all not dry but just perfect, then again i'm a noob and only did it a few times.
