I made some hash recently using the blender, rubbing alcohol and coffee strainer technique and it it is nothing like the hash I used to buy in High School. Mine is all gooey and oily. It basically looks like pipe resin without the smokey smell. I want it to be more dry like cookie dough so it can be handled without needing paint thinner to wash my hands. If I can't make it less messy, I'm going to toss it cuz I got plenty of weed and it just seems like a messy hassle to handle and smoke this hash

Did you put it in a glass dish in the dark to let all of liquid evaporate? this could take up to 2 or 3 days. Once dry, scrape it up and it will be less sticky, more maleable.

the hash youre talking about is like the afghani, brown like chocolate... Its not made by chemicals, but cut with other things. its actually plants that are beaten against glass or plastic and the resin glands that stick are then scraped up like finger hash and pressed. Since the old days we have found easier and faster ways of accomplishing this.... Bubble bags are a good reliable method but if you are on a budget, the good ol Ice water and jar method works too.

I love hash, I make it as often as possible but nothing is more potent that kief or what comes out of the buble bags. I have sat down with pounds of clippings and a silk screen sifting trichs onto a 3 foot piece of glass for hours on end, the 5 gallon 8 bubble bag kit is worth every penny of $280.
I would rather let an egg beater do the work.

If you are going to make hash you need to get some bubble bags BubbleBag.com - Buy Bubble Bags, Hemp Hoodlambs and Vaporizers. If it doesn't bubble its not worth the trouble. I put my hash on some cardboard and let it dry for 24hrs. The cardboard draws the water out of it. You can also put it on the cardboard and put it in the freezer. Usually right after i get the hash out of the bubble bags i take some and roll it up in a ball and squeeze it together between my fingers which gets a lot of water out of it so i can smoke some some right away. Then i let the rest dry on the cardboard.

plus your oil is runny due to havin alcohol in to long, just a quick wash then vap off.
also what part did the fuckin blender play????

Correct, I do a 20-30 second spastic shake of my QWISO jar then right to filter. After evap. and scrape I have a bronze colored powder. I don't press it anymore, just sprinkle it where needed.

But no worries, the first few batches I did were gooey meeses also!

Let me clarify a bit here as you guys sound like pretty hard core hash makers. I simply make hash out of the trimmings from harvested buds. I just want to know how to make the stuff I have not so gooey. The method I use is blending the cuttings in rubbing alcohol then strain through a coffee filter into a pyrex dish then set it out and let all the alcohol evaporate. Scape off and serve, BUT IT IS TOO F'ING GOOEY. I was hoping you could suggest something to add to the hash that would make it smoke nice and not be so messy to handle.

add dried and ground up leaf matter. that wont make it Afghani but will make it a tad more manageable... also, keeping it cold might help for short term.

This is correct, allthough I consider myself a picky smoker I personally wouldnt.... again, I stopped making hash oil with ISO along time ago cuz of the taste.

ok matey, next time dont use a blender it makes it to fine, and u end up with dust going through your filter.

what i do is get a coke bottle cut the ass out of it, then full it with trimmings, then alcohol, 30 sec or so then remove lid and drain, then vap of.

the quicker the time the alcohol is in the better the oil,
the longer the alcohol is in trimmings the more black/green gooey it is.
