Default Beautiful sativa gets mold just before harvest.

I went away for a week, came back and it had been raining all week. Harvested plant tonight and have found little 1x1cm patches of mold on the buds. I am FUCKING DEVASTATED. Can I snip these little bits off and begin drying? Will the mold spread while drying? theres just little patches maybe 3 little bits on each cola. Will drying stop the mold process?

PLEASE TELL ME EVERYTHING YOU KNOW

Whoa, bad ju-ju . . . I feel for ya. I could speculate, but you need someone who's been thru something similar. I use a product called "Eight" for mites, but I dunno about using it this late into the grow. It's totally safe for humans (once it dries) but could mess with the flavor perhaps, and it doesn't sound like you need anymore moisture around anyway.
It's been raining (and cool) here in the Rockies since the day I planted my vegetable garden . . . May 31st!
I thought I might get away w/not having to plant green beans 2-3 times this year, but noooo!

I'll be rootin' for a solution. Not sure if DE (diatomacious earth) stops mites, but it might be worth a look? Seek the "food grade" not the industrial "filter" grade if you do.

Oh, and I don't believe the kind of mold you're dealing with can live w/o moisture, so drying is part of the cure.

Yes, mold cannot survive in dry, low humid conditions. Cut the bad spots away, spread, hang, dry whatever your drying system is. To better help, trim all buds, which helps buds to dry evenly. I have several pizza boxes, each with paper towels in them. I lay the buds in them, one layer only. stack the boxes, & flip them once a day, with a fan blowing on the boxes. You are OK so far. After the dry, curing is highly recommended. Food for thought. If you seen someone drive up at your neighbors house, getting out while holding a pizza box like it's full of hot pizza, would you be suspicions? It's a way I move shit from point A to B. Chill out.

its drying now, i trimmed and picked off a few little bits of mold but not much because i need sleep and this is a lengthy procedure

I was gona slow dry and cure the buds but because of the mold i thought fuck it ill quick dry with heater in the room and forget curing. ill try and cut off bits of mold tomorrow.

im smoking some now i that i put infront of a fan heater for like an hour and im stoned but the smoke is real harsh and putrid, yes i flushed.

such a shame had going for like 6 monthes, 5 ft with 4 massive colas a fair yield.. this is my first grow such a shame

Another thing, if i made honey oil using the butane extractor method, would there be mold present in the resulting honey oil?
