Yiuy can harvest the buds then reveg the plant before putting it back into 12/12 but you cant pick the buds like bananas then just wait for new buds to pop out.

Why not just take the best buds off and let the others do a few more days so you can check the diff high out.

This plant is on it's second crop . . . harvested 1st time around Xmas, returned remains to 24/0, moved to larger container, ie: transplaned it, vegged a while, returned to 12/12, did some shaping, now 24 days into 2nd budding. I expect the buds'll be smaller, but the buzz was so fresh, I couldn't just let it go. Some kind of citrusy-fruity genetics. Grabbed plenty of clones, too. They are doing very well.
I've double harvested many times over the years . . . even triple harvested, but that's really pushing it and 3rd won't be a very happy plant.

Plant 24" canopy, 11" tall, 6-8" deep

Thanks!! How long did you leave it on the 24/0 light cycle? Why did you transplant it? And what is shaping and why?

I am growing what i think is a sativa, last year it was tall, no foliage and didn't produce much. So after the summer/harvest I would like to keep it alive under some fluorescent lights to get more yield. thanks again,

Returning to 24/0 . . . After I harvested, the plant was all but bare. It takes about a month for the target plant to return to normal growth. At first, the new leaves will be irregular . . . misshapen, etc.

I hadn't planned on reviving this particular plant (it was one of six, the other five, some heavier stoney weed, not my bag) . . . so I'd just set it back up under my fleros, untampered with, for maybe a month. I don't even think I watered it and, if at all, very little. Then I smoked a bud from the tiny, first harvest (of this plant) . . . may be the best high I've had, in 40+ years. I knew I wanted A LOT more of this strain, only had the remnants to try and clone, so I decided to try and re-veg it.
I started watering and feeding it with a balanced fert and as it came back to life, TRANSPLANTED it into a LITTLE larger pot . . . simply to give it new room for the re-vigorated roots to roam. No root growth, no top growth, Plus the fresh soil would help balance out whatever leftover fert salts were present.
SHAPING is merely controlling the branches so you can get a fairly even canopy . . . much easier to light up, and conducive to lots of top sites, ie: MORE BUDS!
That'd be the WHY.
When I moved the plant back to 12/12, it stretched a bit. I used yarn to tie those down (too thin a medium may cut into plant) and duct tape to attach the yarn to the planter. Tie the yarn around the branch where it's not in the way of foliage. Gently but firmly, pull down til branch top is in desired area (you'll be bending outward, opening up the center of the plants canopy) carefully bend the growth above the yarn up to get an idea of where it'll be after your lighting does it's thing. Once you're happy with the locale, duct tape the other end to your planter. I use duct tape to attach the yarn to the branch, too . . . it's much easier than trying to tie knots with all that growth in the way . . . loosely.
I'll post a pic of the ties when I shoot this plant for it's 4 week flower pic in a few days.

Soooo . . . I did nothing for a month, then it took another month to return the growth to normal, so I'd estimate it was returned to actual veg for 6-8 weeks. I'm REAL HAPPY with these results.
I've never really paid attention to the "how long's" involved in this, so my numbers may be off, either way.
