I harvested my Master Kush buds about two weeks ago. Did the manicuring and hanged them upside down on hangers for about a week. I could tell it was dry after a week because I bent a stem and it snapped.

So I put them into seal-tight jars and opened it two-three times a day for a couple minutes. It's been a week now and I tried out a test bud and it has a nasty taste to it. It also smells very earthy or like a fresh cut lawn. Is this normal for everyone??? Does this smell eventually go away?? PLease help

Typically a cure of about 2 weeks is neccessary for the smell to fully realize...then the longer the stronger. Just give it a lil bit longer(way easier said than done :P)..the buds will only get better.

when burping the jars... make sure agitate the buds a little... circulate fresh air between them... might help, also helps prevent mold.

you trim them up nice and good? sometimes a bunch of leaves in with the buds will smell kind of funny until the real scent can grow and permeate them.

thnx for the responses guys. yea i trimmed them up pretty good. how does the true smell eventually just "come out"? sry im a first time n00b.

get rid as much leaves as possible. Your probably keeping leaves that have a lot of frost on it that's why.

longer you cure it, the better it will be. the true smell will appear slowly unless its shwag....

If your buds were real thin and airy and they have dried to a crisp. Ya cannot cure them once they are dry as hell. If they were airy ya should have put them in the jars earlier. Cureing just slows the drying process down to a crawl. If they are already dry as hell when goin in the jars it will not do any good.

so if it won't do any good, does that mean i can't cure it now? or i have to rehydrate them and then cure it?

Once they are dry. One can get them moist again but one cannot cure them. They are now dried and cured. They are done.
