Im about 50 days into flowering ... do you think adding molasses at the end of the flowering cycle (say the last week) would give the plant a rapid nutrient uptake increase towards the end or should i just wait till next time

Default molass

even at the very end (after flowering i leave in pure darkness for 3-5days. adding molasses while keeping the soil drenched gave it the sweetest full aroma and taste experienced yet.) for further experimentation, things were left drenched for up to 7days with molasses and even the under developed skimpy fluff that i leave to swell before chopping became the most loved ounce all year. I have also used huge globs of it every water. I noticed these side effects: much stronger typical stench from buds prior to finishing, possibly more resinous?? wait thats not negative.... oo and over usage may cause soil to harden due to built up dried sugars... solution: stabbing the soil breaks it up superbly aerating the mixture and allowing fresh water to seep into new areas... to be honest it made trainwreck taste like candy even dehydrated. hang dried reserve nug was saved for one month and i not once coughed on and of the sugary smooth hits. this last round i tried no molass and i am severely regretting it. less res? lite smell? more rancid than sweet? harsher saltier taste possibly? and to be honest i was a skeptic of this "miracle nutrient". its like adding a filling to the pie...? lol

Most ferts have molasses anyways but the extra you put in really helps. I personally think it is only worth it after the 3rd to 6th week of flowering. You want it to fatten up the buds not the leaves and stalk so I wouldn't advise putting in veg. Thats why in only 98% flowering boosters have the scent of molasses in it and none in veg ferts. The sugar is almost like creatine for humans, it fattens you up cuz the fat turns to muscle(when you workout). in this case the sugar for the plants help break down stuff etc... so your bud is working hard to gain weight and produce buds and the sugar helps it.

I thnk adding sugar during veg is not worth the extra hassle.

I use 2tbsp per gallon myself.

I understand that a lot of the benefits come from the trace elements in the molasses. I know they include iron, manganese, potassium and others.

Molasses is a great ingredient in foliar feeding recipes because of it’s ability to chelate nutrients and bring them to the “table” in a form that can be directly absorbed and used by the plant. This really improves the effectiveness of foliar feeds when using them as a plant tonic. In fact it improves them enough that we usually can dilute our teas or mix them more “lean” - with less fertilizer - than we might use without the added molasses.
