I'll be harvesting my bag-seed first grow with an ebb and flow in about a month, only have 2 plants, but i'm a little bit confused with the yield percentages on the Nirvana website. It says, as i'm sure many of you know, "Yield (Sea of Green on one m2) : 350-450". I know a meter is about 3ft., so how many plants are we talking about to get the 350-450g yield? I had 4 males in this current crop, huge bummer, so i'll be buying feminized seeds. But they only come with 5 per order, so I'm trying to gauge how many seeds i should get. (I have a 3.5x3.5x7 grow space)

Any responses would be appreciated!

honestly bro, I hate the idea of fucking around and cloneing, i know theirs some dudes out their who like it and it is sufficient, but just not for me. I like starting from good ole seed and i love feminized ones. You should just buy a good amount you know? Id say at the minimum get 10 and at the max get 20, b/c for some good seeds your going to be paying around 100-150 for the feminized. Their is some cheaper ones tho, but are still just as good. And plus, if you ever WANTED to clone, say you got a bad ass pheno, then shit you know its a female cuz of the seed so you could clone earlier?

Mattman has a good point. With feminized seed, your good to go if you want to clone plants. On my first grow, I ordered 5 feminized and every one of them germinated and of course all were female.

As far as yields go, the stats that the seed sellers use are like you said, per square meter, but in a Sea of Green (SOG). That means as many plants as you can put in a square meter, tightly grown next to each other. So there's no way you're going to get the 350-400 grams of bud from one or two plants. Most people get from 1 to 2 oz depending on lots of factors, water, nutrients, light type, hydroponic vs. soil, etc.

cloning assures you that you get a consistent quality. even if all of the seeda are the same strain there are several different phenos in each strain. that means some might be different yeilding plants of different heights, etc. i clone because i know that the clone i got started on is the best of the best. hundreds of plants get passed up to find that one that has it all. then you know from then on that every single plant has the same genetics and it takes about half the time as seed at its worst. it takes up to 10 weeks to sex seeds, with clones they can be flowered after 3 weeks. it is as easy or easier than germinating seeds. and ...its a fem every time. so maybe this guy should just get a few fem seeds and then clone from those instead of wasting money. late

Im not knocking anybodies grow style or method of choice but with cloning being so damm easy its senseless & a huge waste of time starting from seed every time,not even taking into consideration the cost of the seeds each time or the extra power consumption from longer veg times.

When i first grew indoors there was no internet,i was told how to clone in a 3 minute face to face conversation with a hippy at a head shop,my first batch was like 50% sucess rate,after that batch the numbers increased with each time until i was around 80% sucess rate.

I took about 20 years off from growing & within the last year just got back into it,taking clones again was just like riding a bike,nothing to it.

Get a bottle of ROOT TONE,a razor blade & a veg tray with a clear lid & your all set,no more seeds & several weeks cut off the grow time.
