Doing my cure right?

ok i hung my flowers out to dry 4 to 5 days till the felt crispy on the outside and spongy on the inside. then i moved them to a brown paper bag for a few days. then i put them in a mason jar and burped them a few times a day but now the outside is slightly moist is this normal? is that whats suppose to happen to bring the moisture to the whole bud again and finish drying evenly in the jar? they have been in there for about a week and are starting to get that smell which there was none prior to putting them in there. any help would be great ive read alot but am still nervous never did a cure before.

thanks so the slightly moist stuff on the outside is normal? kinds wanted to pull um out again and brown bag em again but figured it was part of the process

how resiny was the bud???

whats the humidity in the jar???

You want it to be "spongy" if you mean moist.. also break open a nug and it should be super sticky Honestly though you won't really know how it should look and feel until you get a hygrometer in the jar so you exactly for next time. Good luck

so the humidity in the jar has to be perfect for the cure? my stems dont snap but there pretty dry. im starting to get the smell and i only burp it now once a day. can you purchase a hygrometer at wallmart?

Yep.. theirs a few decent's ones but they might be bulky so watch your nugs. Best bet is to look up caliber III and buy online. It's light and slim and pretty darn accurate. When you jar it up you want it to be within the 65-70 percent RH. If your getting the smell then your probably doing the right thing lol.

spongy is good. just not WET. hygrometers are a good idea unless you're a pro, and even then they're still a good idea.

i definitely am putting a hygrometers on my list of things to get today. im gonna check at my garden shop hopefully they have them there.

no from my experience you should hang them in the dark for 4 or 5 days till they are dry and crispy on the outside and spongy on the inside then move them to the paper bag but dont bang them around to much you are going to lose crystals.

Ya I no what u mean it my expierence the paper bag after try thing makes for a grassy kind of paper baggie outsideI no u cud put a plastic bag inside to help misture out or something. But I jus go strait to jars after dryDon't most people?What's the proper way?

This is what I do, hopefully someone can confirm I am doing the right thing. I put my thermometer in the glass jar, in which I can see through, wait for a few hours, if its around 60 RH I assume I can keep it seal for a long time, if the humidity rise above 65% they are too wet to be in the jar.

Do u put in paper bags after dry before jars or no? I think it makes more a earthy tastee like paper bag

Take a look at the directions link'd in my sig. If you have questions, I'd be happy to clarify.

Just make sure when you "burp" them, that you leave the top off for 2-4 hours after. Dont just pop the lid for 2 seconds and close it back.
Let it air out some. Do that atleast once a day for the first week or so.

So althor do u paper bag after dry before jars or no ?

Again i like this makes for a paper baggy grassy taste ?
