just checked the triches and they are half clear and half cloudy. i want to hurry up and harvest so i can start anew because gnats are eating my leaves and hatching in my soil. anyone tried bud that was half and half?

I think everyone has at some point... It will still get you high but will not taste as good or be as potent if you wait until fully cloudy.

thats what im afraid of. i want it to be as potent as can be because ive put so much time and effort into the grow, but unfortunately the bugs this grow is bringing is affecting more than just my grow space, so i think i am going to chop in a few days. no biggie, im starting a new one right after.

i often cut at 1/2 and 1/2 for my daytime smoke but let the rest of the crop go until mostly cloudy. with your bug problem, i'd cut them now. it's not like you're not going to get a nice high, just not a great one. clean the crap out of the area. i hope your vegging plants are far away (although they still might get infested).

well i have hesitated to start vegging again until i see no more gnats or i have a reliable solution for them. but its a good idea to have some early harvested buds for daytime smoke: the high is light and upbeat and you dont get tired afterwards. then you save the good stuff for late night gaming and bedtime haha

get yellow sticky traps. put them everywhere, including in the pot itself. the little fuckers will run to it and get got. there's also another sticky product that is for placing directly in the pot but the sticky traps work well. when i see a gnat, i put sticky traps up in the grow area. if i see a few, i put the traps in every room for a few days. never let them get a foot hold!

I have been pleasantly surprised at how well the yellow stick traps work. They are so simple; just a little piece of yellow cardboard with glue/adhesive on them. They cost just a couple of bucks for 7-10 individual traps and they work quite well for the price paid. I also tried placing a small bowl of 1) water with soap in it, and 2) apple cider vinegar to see if either of those would trap the pesky bugs. They both did catch some (the idea is that once they tough the liquid, they cannot escape (surface tension) but overall it wasn't terrible effective.

I suggest insecticidal soap on the leaves and on any visible bugs (it kills on contact, but you have to see them and spray them), plus the sticky traps stuck into the soil around the base of the plants.

Using diatomaceous earth, spreading a layer on top of dry soil in each plant container, is reported to work very well too, but I've not tried it yet.

DE does work. I've found that the granulated DE works best because it will not blow away or turn to sludge when watered. Also being impatient and growing cannabis I'd not a good match. If you don't have the patience your product will suffer dramatically.
