i would wait, i remember being able to look with my naked eye at the trichs and see if some have turned red or not. you cant really see if they are cloudy with the naked eye but most of the time i could see if they had turned amber. the most growth happens in the last two weeks, would be such a waste if you harvested early... if you harvest late it will be much less of a waste in my opinion. but radioshack carries a really nice 50times microscope for about 13 bucks if you can find one. good luck man.

Close, wait for those last white pistils currently still standing up to change color and recede...then you should be good.

tri's too clear and you still have way too many white pistals.. look at the recomendations for the seed, add 2 weeks as it takes 2 weeks to go from veg to bud.

The result is a strain that takes 8 – 10 weeks to flower and is consistently a much better yielder than the original Cheese, and flavour and taste is well preserved. Big Buddha Cheese have an appealing fruity fresh smell, uplifting effect, and is highly pungent hence its name! Flowering period is between 8-10 weeks

Don't bother with breeders recommendations.......much depends on amount of light, overall health, etc. Not seeing any browning of the buds which happens when the tric's start turning amber. So, I'm guessing at least 1 week and probably closer to 2. And as stated, still some fresh pistols on tops of buds. After reviewing, 1 week should be fine...... and actually the rule of thumb is: when it appears done and you're ready to harvest, wait another week.

i start the 8 week countdown as soon as i see pistils, not from when i switch the lights.

thing is with this plant she has NO leaves left on her, just the leaves around the buds.

bit scared that i could be losing potency now as there is not enough foliage to carry the buds further

With all the large sun leaves gone, I've found that this may delay ripening some............. the small bud leaves are still green and doing their job. So, be patient. In a week I'd chop a small bud and place it in a food dehydrator for a few hours. Or mic it at very low temps for a few minutes. DON'T OVER DRY or it will burn off the tric's and ruin the experiment. Then smoke it and analyze the buzz. It won't be tasty or smell very good- but you'll be able to judge the high. If you are happy with it then, chop it. If not, wait another week or so. Ooooooorrrrrrr.
wait for the amber tric's to appear and cut when there is 15-25% of them.
