Default Curing in my bloom box?

I am about to harvest my first grow and I was wondering if there is any reason I can't cure/dry inside my bloom box. The box itself has an inline fan and carbon filter mounted to the top with a T5 light below it. I would make a small cardboard box with wires running inside to hand the buds from and have it above my light next to the fan. The idea is to keep the smell under control. The temps usually stay mid 70's in there and ventilation is pretty good.

    Thoughts?

Yes, as long as the box doesn't get in the way of anything else and you maybe line it with some reflective material or black plastic to ensure it is lightproof, then you should be fine and I hear ya on your reasoning for wanting to carbon filter the odors. Good move for extra safety & caution.

Post some pics of your final product when ya get a chance! Would love to see it. What strains are ya working with?

I'll take a picture when I get home of my bloom box and my vegging area. I'm pretty proud of the box and it's stealthiness .. As for strains I got 1 bag seed about to be harvested and 2 I just but into bloom that both are lookin to be ladies. On deck I've got a mother plant of train wreck and a vegging maui wowie.

Great strains ... Bag seed is always interesting. I planted 10 seeds that I saved and knew the strains in which they came from bud didn't have them labeled. Ended up realizing what was OBVIOUSLY 'pure kush'. Such a great, compact, frosted strain with a one of a kind scent. It was an awesome surprise. And who doesn't like Trainwreck? I have StarTrek going that is just looking/smelling AMAZING. It's Sensi Star x Trainwreck. Can't wait to harvest her.

I think I've tried Maui Wowie once. The guy who brought it over I think is the kinda person who will lie & make up a name. Sometimes he brought stuff that I knew for sure was what he said, like SourD or something, but idk. If it was Maui Wowie then it was pretty good. I was expecting a bit more out of the genetics to be honest, but it's not like it was disappointing. Just not what I expected.

Yeah I am really curious about the bag seed myself. It looks like I got 2 distinctly different strains but they are quite healthy. The Maui Wowie seeds I got through a friend who's brother in law works in a lab in Cali so I am pretty sure they are legit. Plus seeing it in early veg they are monstrous in their growth. REALLY look forward to seeing them bloom.

Hell ya bro! It'll be all good & a fun learning experience. You'll be shocked as the years go by how many strains you'll prob end up going thru. Very few growers find a strain that they want to do a whole room full of year in and year out. Not to say they won't find a favorite strain to keep a mother of say the best one out of their garden and then continue to grow stash quantities of it to the side, but typically most will switch to different strains I'd say annually at the least (most cases). Def try to get a card if you're in a state with a medical program, as it sounds like you may be without, and start going to medical meetings and grab some clones from local growers. Or of course, the options for online seedbanks is starting to seem endless, so you can find some amazing cannabis cup winners.
