First time screwing up a harvest. I dried the buds a little too quick I think
yep.
I do believe that I have dried this harvest too fast. The buds are crispy.. they almost fall apart if you handle them. Alright, well.. not that bad.. but they are a bit too crispy.
Also, I tested some of the buds (they are dried.. just not cured yet).. but yeah I tested some of the buds for myself like I do every harvest.. only this time the buds don't really have a taste. It's almost neutral smelling and tasting. Yep, the buds themselves have lost the "fresh" green smell (Chlorophyll smell/taste) is gone. But, the sweet bud smell hasn't came along yet either.
But again, I think I dried the buds a little too fast. But, then again I have used the method before.. without any problems. I think what I did, was I had the fan on too high this time. Fuck.
Yeah, I had found a drying method.. that cuts off about 3 days worth of drying time. I put a slipknot into one end of a piece of thread.. and tightened it around the bottom end of the stem.. of each nug. I then tied the other end of the string (thread or whatever you wanna call it..) to the outer cage of my "special fan".
And again, I've never had a problem with them drying to quickly.. past harvests have always been great. But, like I said.. I think I had the fan on too high of a setting this go around.. at least now I know for sure.. the limits of how much 'direct air' buds can receive without losing their taste/smell/potency... etc.
Just wanted to share this experience with everyone.. maybe it will keep some of you from making the same mistake. And, if that's so.. well then I kinda feel a little better about losing some of this harvest.
Oh, and lastly.. I didn't fuck up the entire harvest. I have exactly 17.8 grams of the harvested Nirvana Ice that didn't get the fan treatment. But then again, it would have been nice to have been able to keep the other part of the harvest.. that would add my total harvested weight to around 40 grams. Maybe a little under that..
You live and you learn..

Hey ganja you can throw some undried stems in the over dried bud to "rewet it"

yeah, not sure its worth it though.
I mean, I dried it way too quickly. It was bad.. worse than I thought it was going to be thats for sure.
I've never seen a bud just crumble to pieces and fall to the ground.. just by trying to see if it was dry yet. Apparently it was..
Also, whats weird.. is.. I've smoked two bowls now.. of the crispy buds and ehh I'm not even buzzed. The hell would cause that?
This is beyond my knowings and experience.
I need to go talk to fdd2blk. I'm sure he'd know why the buds have no potency.
This is def. a first for me. Out of 5 harvests now.. (including this one).. I've never grown buds that I couldn't get high off of.
Shit's all whack..
anyone else maybe have some idea as to the problem? I'm sure its related to the buds being dried too quickly.. and being overly dried but, what exactly happened.. to where the buds wouldn't get you high?? That's where I'm confused at..
