Hey guys, Im just finishing up my first CFL grow using the LST method. I think shes come a long way and think were just about there.
Ran into a few issues last week with using some bad water causing the leaves to wither. Ended up taking out 70% of the main fan leaves =X I flushed, gave her a little prune and we were good to go. MORE HERE
Past few days ive noticed that the new leaves on the colas started yellowing; pistils are about 90% orange and started receding into the buds aswell. The trichromes are mostly cloudy with barely any ambers - maybe 5%. Im not sure if the plant is just yellowing because its coming time to harvest or if its because its recovering from my PH and nute burn problem. Ive also noticed that some of the yellow leaves on the buds have dark spots and are drying up =X

Little insight on what ive been using:
SOIL: local nursery special. Filled with all kinds of goodness: peat moss, blood meal, perlite and more.
LIGHTS: 5 26 watt CFL's.
NUTES: During veg I used MG all purpose (24-8-16). For flowering, I used MG bloom booster (15-30-15) with a gallon of distilled water. Stopped nutes last week.
WATER: Been using roughly 3/4 gal every 5 days. 2 weeks ago I started using a little bit of molasses water in between my nutes but now its straight water.
I was hoping you guys can guide me through my first harvest and let me know if shes ready for a final flush! Heres some pics.
looks good in my opinion, hairs red, look like they are turning in to the bud, id say your ready now if not in a few days, id wait and see others advice
no way man that bud is ready to be chopped down!! it looks fucking great though!!! how dense are the buds they look hella fat for a cfl grow how many cfls did you use?
oh btw im serious chop the bud down tonight all the hairs are red and that means its ready to go. usually people harvest when only 75% of the hairs are red so yeah chop down immedietly before all the hairs start falling out. any other questions id be happy to help
hair color doesnt matter.its the trichomes, have you looked at them yet? but anyway- certain colas look done and a few i'd leave for another week or so. The fan leaves starting to die most likely wasnt caused by a mistake you made, later in flower when the plants getting ready to finish it will suck the stored energy and nutes in the fan leaves out and put the energy into budding. dont remove leaves in flower if they dont come off with a gentle tug, the plant stored the energy in the leaves for a reason-to use it when it needed it........

I have the 100x scope and the trichs are milky with very little ambers.Tthe reason why she got a little haircut is because I used some bad water which killed much of the large fan leaves =X.
But its good to know I shouldnt be worried about the yellowing, I figured that was normal but some of the leaves are getting spotty on the buds, and I wasnt sure if that was a problem.
looks great man how many cfls did u use?
id flush for at least a few days tho maybe weaken the light if your worried about going past ripe into rotten
but you want your bud to taste good so flush
what are you looking for from it? do you want it to be more of a head buzz or more of a couchlock buzz? the plants swell greatly the last few weeks flowering, so you can get more coucklock buzz bud just wait to harvest until that point or you could harvest less more head high buzz buds. i

Thanks for all the input guys, I think Im gonna flush her today and wait maybe 3-4 days to clip her down Im definitely looking for more of a couchlock smoke so I think a few more days shouldnt hurt. The original plan was to have her ready for the holidays, but at this point in time I dont think thats gonna happen. Overall I'm very surprized with the grow, these buds are super fuckin dense!
Cyber - I used 4 CFL's for most of the grow - 6500k for the veg and maybe 3500k for the flowering.
unknown - what are the signs of having a hermie? I just thought the buds grew out funny and sideways because I was moving the lights around... I dont see any male sacks or anything on the plants, but you guys would know better.
dark - thanks for the good input man ill keep under close watch of the trichs and let them sit until I get more ambers!
