i use 93% isopropyl alcohol, with the remaining 7% inactive ingredients being water... ive thought about distilling out some of the water as well to furhter purify it, ill let u know if that works out... as to the plant material and carcinogens problem, when ive made it before, as i boil my alcohol/oil mix, i notice that after the alcohol is boiling off, the smell of the vapor switches from alcohol to a clorophyl plant material smell, this is the little bit of water that is in the isopropyl boiling out; the boiling point of THC is vastly higher than water or alcohol so i kind of figured the plant material would have been abosrbed into the water and thats why i can smell the clorophyl/plant smell as the water vapors boil off...honestly tho, ill take your expertise cuz i really don't know whether clorphyll and watever carcinogens are in the plant are water soluble, or alcohol soluble, and wat their boiling points are; assuming none of their boiling points are as high as THC 157 °C (315 °F) then wouldn't everything boil off except the THC leaving only the oils you want? i dunno not tryna argue i was just kind of curious if anybody know the chemsitry behind all this

oh I had no idea you were boiling it all in the same pot, i usually fill a large pot 1/3 with water and bring it to a boil, then I place a dish on top of the large pot and fill it with the iso alcohol + bud/trim. this allows it to evaporate alcohol and water quickly without losing thc.
