So my girl has been flowering for awhile now and about a 2 weeks ago, I saw a huge surge of trichomes, and the buds (calyxes) themselves swelled up huge and looks like popcorn. The only thing is, the hairs are still mostly white with only about 30% red/orange. This is strawberry cough, and I know there has not been a male around since this is my only plant...so the swollen calyxes aren't seeded inside, its' all buds. My question is, I've heard that you should harvest soon after they swell up like that. But like I said, most of the hairs aren't orange or red yet, and I don't have access to a microscope...so can I harvest these soon? Thanx guys

You could harvest at anytime. However from your description it sounds like you need another month or two...

I noticed the same thing with my bud.

the hairs were a monstrosity of white.

all the trichomes were just right but the hairs resumed to stay white.

I chopped it down, and a few days later it was an orange giant.

your not a couple months away. you can chop anytime. the longer you wait,the more you let them turn and swell, the better. just dont go past the point where your thc starts turning to blah blah blah.(different thread)
i personally like the blah blah cuz i like being thrown back to the coucj,..i like being faded. most people want that chatty energetic high,..lets go to the mall high,..not me.
chop when the thc content is right for you. you need a magnifier.

this happened to my plant too i did notice my plant was swollen and it was all white with the trichomes, till i chopped it down and after a few days of drying i noticed the orange.
