I recently did a sample of some of the lower buds off of my plant. The plant has got a very strong diesel smell to it. The only problem is that the buds have been drying for about 3 days now, upside down in a cardboard box, and it smells really nasty, not even really like weed. Will this go away after a few more days of drying and then curing for a week?

i have just read on a thread that the plant smelt disgusting until it was cured and then took on the smell we all know.

have you checked for mold and bud rot?

Yeh everything seems normal... i think you're right. After it is properly dried and cured it will smell better.

sometimes during drying the leaves reek, well atleast to me i dont really like the smell of the leaves when drying/dying xD

That high potent smell is normal, it is the natural process the plant will go through as it dries. Make sure there is no potential for mold to grow, cause that can spread fast and wreck your buds.
