I know that I have read on here that it is OK to snip a few buds early to, as someone put it, take a "taste drive" and the rest of the plant will be OK. Well, the tops of my plants are almost done, another week at most. However, true to form, the lower buds on the main stalks are a wee bit behind and it is unlikely they will be ready when the maine tops are. Can I harvest the tops of each stalk and let the lower buds on the stalk develop for a bit more time without casuing serious damage? I would like all my buds ripe, however, worst case scenario is I have a pile of buds that are a bit early. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks

This has been asked and answered many times, but you're newer, so, YES, you can trim the top of the plant first and let the rest develop. I do this every time I harvest.

Thanks Monday. Sorry to be asking redundant questions. I know I have seen posts on this topic but becasue I am at work and working this forum in stealth mode spending too much time looking for the old posts could result in something ugly. Anyway, does it matter how much of the top is cut? I am looking at about 12" at the top of each stalk which is a healthy portion of my small indica. I have been so patient, which was hard, and I just don't want to fuck it all up. Thank you again.

no, it shouldn't matter, the bottom of the plant should only be a couple of days (to a week) behind the top. Careful with the work thing.
