I routinely add a bit of lemon or lime skin to my jars, especially if they are a bit overdry. Adds a nice citrus zest to the flavor too.

yes i like lime lemon or an orange. orange are my favorite but lime and lemon works well on anything. usually i would just put it in overnight in the last stages of curing and it turns out awesome

I've done the same with orange rinds. It works great to preserve the moisture in your buds, or to increase moisture in over-dried bud.

I leave them until the skins dry up. I've never experienced mold or anything like that, the skins will dry out before moisture becomes a problem.

I'm experimenting with it right now. I had a half jar of my "early sample pick" buds that were a bit grassy. I read about it on RIU, but there were several apparent problems with his recipe.

I took one orange, sliced it in half and hand juiced it (drank the juice.) Get as much of the fruit out as you can, but you want the skin and outer flesh.

The two half orange rinds were sliced up into strips 1/8" to 1/4" wide. I placed them on foil, and dried them for about 12 min in oven at 350. After they were cool, I made them into a ball, and wrapped in porous white cloth (from a t-shirt, but they recommend cheese cloth if you have it). I tied it off with string (heavy fishing line works best). It made a ball about 1 1/2" diameter. I put that in a pint size canning jar 1/2 full of buds. Ball should not touch buds.

I continued to burp the jar along with the rest of the curing jars. The buds had been dry, but the orange made them moist again. So, after a week I left the jar open, but in a paper bag to dry.

My sample smoke was good. It took the grassy taste away, but didn't really taste citrus. However it wasn't completely dry yet, so the verdict is still out. I'll probably put a fresh orange ball back in for another week.

I'm also experimenting with a lemon lime ball.

Each of my jars have about an oz in them. I add 5 little orange peel squares per jar. (appx 1/4" square each peel)
