This is my first grow as was wondering how long I had left about 8 weeks into flowering.

my first assumption is 2 weeks but if i knew the strain i thiink i could help a little more

Patience...they don't look like ripe at all--it def. looks like a few more weeks.

If you won't be looking at trichs to determine ripeness, then wait until almost all of those hairs are red and really receding...
from the pic--they are still standing pretty tall and don't look all that red/orange yet...and wait for those calyxes to swell--that's where your weight and buzz is anyway...

Do you know the strain?

I personally can't stand to see people cut their bud too early...what a true waste of herb and time.

Ok I dont see how any 1 can give solid advice without knowing the lights and wattage u use. The less light lumens the longer it will take. When the trichs are half cloudy white and half amber is the best time in my humble opinion. But ya if not lookin at trichs let the hairs turn at least 75% red.

um, I'm not real sure why you quoted me...if you are suggesting that my advice isn't "solid"--then why did you go on to repeat it? Not trying ot be snotty...just wondering.

I think dude knows the info on which we are basing advice--he provided it. Also, I've never determined harvest time based on my wattage--I judge by how the plant LOOKS--and for years when i didn't use a magnifier, I used the 75/80% red hair method and most strains still turned ripe at about 60-67 days--no matter how I judged, or whether I used a 600w or a 1000w.


so, yeah, just giving the guy advice based on the available info--and without knowing the wattage, I can still see that those buds clearly need at least a few more weeks.
