I've done reading, however i'm still not very sure wtf i'm doing. My friend just told me recently that i'm supposed to clip the buds then put them in jars then eventually let them dry? Before i was letting them dry then putting them in jars.. what am i SUPPOSED to be doing..

Let them dry first. You will probably get moldy bud if you don't.

Use the truth as a weapon.
Beat your friends with it.

First off trim your leaves close to the bud as possible and make them clean as hell

second. hang them on a line for atleast 5 days and let them dry out good

third= can them in mason jars. I tape black electric tape on the outside so now light shines in so it wont degrade the THC. (i suggest doing it)

4th for the first week rotate them and make sure nothing is getting modly.

5th if everything is good and nothing is moldy let them sit for at least 2 months minimum before you smoke em or sell em.

im about to cut my babies tommorrow im sure they are done, gave then 2 flushes, and a final 72 hour darkness(which they are in now), live in a very very dry climate how short of time could it take to cure ?

The buds are smokeable after you dry them but curing helps make the bud taste and smoke better.
