Hello boys and girls.

Wanted to get your take on my girl - do you think it's harvest time? I'm almost certain it's a cream caramel, been growing outdoor since april. I live in a rather hot place so no winter here yet. trics look on most of the buds 50% amber 40% clowdy 10% clear/ some buds have even more amber, some have less.
normaly I would have taken it down a couple of weeks ago, but "Zeus's take on harvesting" post in this forum convinced me to wait...
any input would be great.

Looks nice man. Sounds like a good combo of Trichomes. If that's the high you like I'd suggest you do it. But I'm an amateur, I just like the pics.

depends on wut kinda high u like :P id harvest at the trichome % u described

flush and leave for another week, if you want the "couchlock" stone - and i suggest give them 48hrs of dark before harvest

Iv'e been flushing for a couple of weeks now (maybe started too soon...). 48hrs of darkness before harvest? never heard of that, what is it good for?

it shocks the plant into thinking life's up and it produces more goodness, favour etc - the method dates back centuries

thc is degrading (a bit) during the light period, and built (a bit more) while it is dark.
72 hours is the maximum time a plant can live without light, so if you give her 2-3 days of dark right before harvest, you'll maximize your pot potency.
Depending on strain, you may get from 5% to a nice 30% increment on thc.
Also, the last dark period is the first step to a proper cure, and it will improve flavour.

As for harvest time, the trichs combo seems just right. Just make sure to check top, middle and bottom of the plant to be sure that ripeness is homogeneous.
Calyxes are swollen, and even if there is still a bit of new growth (white pistills) I'd say, give 2-3 days of dark and then harvest. Wait another week if you seek couchlock - sleeping medicine.
P.s. don't take that as expert advice, i'm in my first grow... but I think I can be pretty confident with that advice. Take it as it is

Another thing as well, go an extra few days without giving them water, this cuts drying time down

Twistedfunk - by saying growerboy is the only one who posted accurate info here, this means you think the others were wrong? by that, I'm asking if you think it's too eraly for me to harvest?

Iv'e been growing for several years now and I always used the trics method to tell when it's harvest time, and it usually occured when about %70 of the hairs turned brown. but this thread Zeus's Take on Harvesting. convinced me that I should wait more. much more. actually, according to the pics on this thread, till it's %99 fallen brown/red hairs.

The reason I'm trying to wait more this year (other than that thread) is that last summer I took a plant down and left just one tiny flower on it, outside. (winter not hard, some rain no frost). One night after about 3-4 months I had nothing to smoke so I just cut that little flower with my hand and nuced it in the micro . To my pleasant suprise, it was way way stronger than the original "on time" harvested plant.
