ifi cut a little pieceoff a bud wiil that stress the plant at all or make it not flower allthe way

No, you plant will be fine. Just cut off a "Sugar Leaf" on the largest bud, and check that.

Just be gentle when you carry it because you can mash all the trichs with your finger and then you won't see anything except tree stumps.

get this alluminated scope.... take it with you to the plant.... it takes a couple of seconds to look at the trichs on a bud.... you can buy it at Radio Shack or on amazon
