Hello All,

These are 6 White Widow and 6 Casey Jones that have turned from clones at a shop in Oakland to 10 ft'ers. I'm going down to Radio Shack today to pick up a microscope, but I'm wondering what people's preferences are in terms trichrome appearance on these two strains. They are about 6-7 weeks in to flower.

These were put in 7gal, MG Organic soil, a small amount of MG time release, Earth Juice Catalyst, and Age Old Veg nutes. I had to move them when they started to climb over 6ft and then introduced Age Old bloom nutes. They've also been getting a decent amount of molasses every few days.

Because of the size of them and with some input from a friend who knows, I removed most of the lower branches.

This is my first grow, but not the last. I'll be purchasing a hydro set up this week.

fuck hydro go organic if u want ur buds to taste the best they can

I'm doing this with my dad and he's leaning towards organic as well.

This crop was very fun and i learned a shitton, but may to october is not gonna cut it. Is there a time difference from indoor organic to hydro? What size pots would you reccommend? How tall do you take them?

(still curious is anyone has input on trichrome timing.)

Seriously though, this is my rookie season grow and I thought 12 healthy 10 foot plants on the verge of awesomeness would be worth a shit. I'm not looking for a hi-five, I was just hoping to get some comments from people experimenting with different stages of trichrome coloration. Isn't figuring out how to manicure the high one of the funnest parts?

idk from the pics you have posted it seems like they still have a ways to go. you don't want to pull them early cause they'll pack on a shit ton of weight and resin production in the last 2 weeks. but hell yea for you first grow you're doing great! +rep

he doesnt need a high five. lol....i harvest at 30 percent amber trichs....i also look for other signs such as ripeness of the weed "looks like its ready to smoke", and when the catalyx stops swelling.

You can tell without a scope just as you described. When it looks done.....it's done. I bought a scope after decades of small outdoor grows. My tests concluded that when I wanted to harvest a more "cloudy" batch I would harvest by "eye" and then check the trichs. They were right on the money most of the time. I could have been burned a few times if I had used just the scope. 50%+ amber and nowhere near ready visually, I knew they weren't ready just by looking at them.
