Anyone ever have this problem? The buds are decent sized, but have no trichomes on them - they don't smell like much either. It's the lower third or so of the plant that has this problem - the rest of it is ok.

This is schwag thought. I can't even make hash out of this shit. At least 1/3 of the BUDS from this plant are going right in the garbage. My other plants turned out fine. Hindu Kush from Nirvana.

Oh well, garbage in garbage out. Proves you gotta start with good seeds.

I don't know, I use attitude. I guess you can get a bad seed from anywhere, all you can do is try to start with the best you can. I was looking at seeds that cost $47 each plus shipping. Maybe if you are going to put a lot of work into growing it it makes no sense to skip on the front end. I've never paid anywhere near that though, maybe $15.

If the buds at the bottom are being shaded from the light by the top cannopy then they will not mature to their full potential, you could trim enough leaves off to allow more light through but it is better to cut off the small bottom bits and concentrate on the big tops. You could use a product called chaching that boosts resin production and it works, it recommends that you use it in the last 2 weeks of flowering but i would use it fron 3rd week in until the end. It costs about £28 for a lb and you only need half a teaspoon per 4lts of water so it lasts a long time.

absolutely no trichs? lemme see some pics

I have 2 nirvana bubbelicious at 68 days flower and one has a good bit more trichs than the other.. The one that doesnt have as many trichs has a foul sourish smell where as the other one that has more trichs smells like straight up bubble gum.. The one w/ less trichs doesnt have very many if any trichs on the bigger leaves. Only one the calyx.. Look at your calyx w/ a scope and dbl check.
