I've been curing my bud for the last two days in jars and have a question. The bud hasn't gotten to that OMFG bud smell yet. Does that come after curing longer?

Depends on the strain. In most cases it stinks much more before drying and curing!

You want temps about 55 and humidity at about 45% dry it in a dark area till they are dry to the touch on the out side almost crunchy but spongey on the inside usually takes 2 - 4 days shouldnt take much more than that bigger the nugs the longer it will have to dry. after that put them in caning jars and burp then once a day for a few minutes. keep them in the dark then too. then you good smelling good tasting supreme buds. It takes different amounts of time for diff parts of the world.
