I have a few harvesets under my belt, but I am curious about everyones trimming techniques.

When I harvest I chop the plants down and trim them to what I call "the blunt line". This is the point on the leaves where heavy coatings of resin start. This is a rough trim, but when the buds wet it's hard to get good accurate trimmin's for me.

After they are done hangin' and are ready for jars I trim from the blunt line in capturing all of those trimmings as "shake" to use for blunts. I'll roll blunts w/ 50/50 nugs and shake.

Just curious if people here trim before hangin, after hangin, not until it's wickedly dry later on?


See I stop them from hang drying after about 3-4 days as they tend to get too dry too fast hanging. I like the nice slow drying process the jars provide and it seems to keep the bud tastin better.

Just did a couple of hours of snippin' today, and will be doing more for several days.

I cut the plant and manicure immediately. I find it's easier and much quicker to snip the leaves while they're turgid. I cut every petiole that I see, and just like you snip the outer tips of the bud leaves. All of the green leaf that I remove is dried for cooking.

I hang the individual branches for 6-10 days, depending on temp and humidity, and then put the buds into metal tins for 2 weeks, then into jars.

wuts the purpose of useing the metal tins??

I use large flat cookie tins, because they hold a lot of buds, and I can pack them in, and when closed they are nicely sealed, and easily opened and aired out daily during curing.
