I have found the following generally to be true.

A) Main colas mature faster than lower small buds.

B) Much of the lower buds remain small due to inadequate light.

C) These small buds will become larger and more potent once the main colas are removed and they are exposed to intense light.

We also know that a cut stem will supply water to the plant when placed in water (this is why clones survive).

Here is my idea. When harvesting, cut off the main cola branches leaving behind the lower scrub buds. Trim off all the fan leaves to lower the rate of transpiration (water loss) and because it's the most convenient time. Remember you are harvesting these branches.

After the fan leaves are removed, put the branches in RO water or the flushing solution of your choice and let them soak as long as you wish.

The cut stem should supply enough solution for flushing with fan leaves removed. After (3 days?) remove the branches which should be adequatly flushed and harvest normally.

A week or two later you should have some decent buds from what otherwise would have been sparse, immature scrub bud. Harvest when ready.

i agree with that, iv noticed that in the past and the last 2 harvest iv done this and got some nice buds out of the small buds i woulda had if i would of just pulled the plant

Now aRandom, did you soak the harvested branches in a flushing solution?

Although A main stem might not be enough to keep itself alive with all the fan leaves left on, it should pass enough water to flush the soaking bud.
