First grower here. I know this question sounds rediculous but honestly, what's the best way to cut down a plant? I didn't LST or anything so I just have one main stem with couple small nuggies and one main cola.

Do I cut the stem where it comes into contact with the soil? Do I keep the roots on it while drying? Seriously I got no clue and I wanna do it right.

Any input is appreciated!

can you toss up a picture? have you checked the trichomes with a mag glass?

last time i cut down a plant it was with a machete. if its not so big you could use hedge clippers or a small saw or serrated knife

oh and you dont need the main stem or roots, just take a pair of scissors and cut off all the branches. hang dry on string for about a week then put in glass jar for another week. i know, just when you thought you were almost done theres 2 weeks still to wait

For sure I knew it'd take about a week to hang dry...didn't know it needed another week in the jars! I don't have a pic up right now but I gotta take her down. Tried some out about 2 weeks ago and it was some bomba@@ stuff lol. Since I'm moving soon I gotta chop her. So I can just cut the stem where it meets the soil?

def. then start clipping all of the leafs off and hang it to dry

Thanks for all the useful info guys! I went ahead and cut her down just an hour ago. This is my first grow..didn't LST...nothing. Im amazed at how much I learned throughout this grow. CANNOT WAIT(!!) to start my next few grows!!

ill bet that bud weighs lik a 1/4 dry. it looks good though bro. enjoy your free smoke

also one thing i forgot to mention is dont forget to "burp" the jars while your curing. just open the jar, take a smell of that goodlyness and close it up again. you can do this every day every other day, or when ever you think to do so

I'm hanging it on a string right now. How long should I have it hanging before putting it in the jar? Also, should the drying part be in light or dark conditions? Does it matter? How bout airflow?
