So I have 5 female plants I've been growing in soil, under cfl's (400+ watts), from bagseed. They are roughly rounding week 7 of flowering and I have had no major problems until now. Although 4 of them remain perfectly healthy one plant seems to have had enough and is dying maybe? The top of the plant seems to be drying up while the bottom remains green. This occured in a 24hr period from perfect health to its now sad look. After looking at it with a scope it has maye 20% amber trichs and the rest are cloudy. I've scowered this site for an awnser but haven't found one yet. I don't have pictures, but will try to get some on this evening. Does this sound normal for the end of the flower cycle or did something go horribly wrong with this one plant? Any response other than telling me I need to put up pictures is greatly appreciated. 20% amber - that sounds pretty mature - gut reaction is this particular plant had a shorter ripening period than the others - harvesting that one may be the thing to do

Depending on the high you want, some people harvest when 60% of the trichs are cloudy and 40% are clear (usually more sativa based grows). Some people harvest when there are 50% amber, 50% clear (usually more indica based grows). Like growone said, you can always just harvest. If you want to, just chop the top to harvest and let the bottom grow a little longer.

That was my initial reaction is that it has just reached it full potential, especially because nothing of the sort has happened with the other four plants, but being my first time around I just thought it good to seek other opinions. I'll still try to get some pictures up tonight if I can. It will most likely be harvested though, as it was a test subject through out the grow, so I hadn't expected alot of it. No worries, glad we could help. The first few grows are usually the hardest. Everyone has to learn some how, and the best way is to try. Hope the next grow yeilds you twice as much.
