Talking THC and Light???
So lumens and light close to plants is very important. The amount of lumens decreases greatly within a short distance from growing plants thus the closer to them the better. That said and aggreed upon, how much can that same growing light really affect hanging cureing plants that are lets say 8 to 12 feet away from them and not at all in a direct path as with the plants that are having the light directed at them for growing. In other words how much degradation in a quality bud will you really get if the hanging plants are not in complete darkness??

When the plant has been harvested, you have effectively killed it. The light is important for providing the energy for the plant to fuction properly and grow. When you're drying and curing, you don't really want a bunch of light as what activtaes the chlorophyll in the leaves etc. Ideally you want all that stuff gone, as it taints the bud and makes it smell/taste grassy.
There are some threads around that give more educated answers to issues surrounding light, and ideal harvesting-curing conditions. You should take a look at them.

Ok the truth to this is that when the plant wakes up in the morning the sun will immediately start to breakdown the trichomes. At night the plant will not only replenish the trichs but also produce so much more. Now when you harvest you want to put the plant in darkness for upto 3 days and that allows the plant to produce trichomes for upto 72 hours without breakdown thus giving a better product. Haze2
