Question curing to help smell and taste?????
Im a first time grower and I had one female plant of NL from a reputable seed bank. I cut it last Monday after 9 weeks of vegetative growth and I had a ton of huge fluffy buds. While they were on the plant, they had a very sweet smell and looked wonderful. As I said I cut her down on Monday and the buds have been drying in a dark, ventilated, cool room. The more it drys, the more its losing its sweet smell. Smells more like hay than weed right now. I plan to put them into canning jars and burp the lids once a day after they are dry enough too. My question is, after curing in the canning jars, will the smell and taste come back, and if so, how long will it take??

you want to make sure you have about 10% moisture left in the buds when they go into jars. if they are too dry, you wont get a good cure.
as far as the smell coming back, it depends on strain, how much moisture was still left in the buds, and if the plant was mature or ripened enough when you harvested. i have had some that i harvested early and the smell didnt come back. i also had some that were too dry when it went into jars and the smell did not come back. this round i have some strains that i never really lost the smell completley and after a week in the jars it smells better than when i harvested.

i like to put them into jars a little early for about 4 hours or so. this will even out the moisture in all the buds. just have to keep checking them so they dont get mold. then i will take them out of the jars and go into paper bags to finish drying some more. i check them often and stir them up or reposition them. i check them every few hours to see if they are dry enough to go back into jars so they can even out again. i will keep doing this until they are dry enough to stay in jars and just get the burping a couple times a day. for the next couple weeks or so, then i will burp less often until they can stay in jars for long term. once you get the hang of it, you can tell just by the feel and smell of them when they are ready for the jars or paper bags.

curing will help smell, taste, potency, and make it burn better. it will also give it bag appeal
