So, I've read a lot about harvest times and what to do the last two weeks before harvest, etc. Problem is this is a first grow for me. Obviously, with experience comes a basic of understanding when to do what. Unfortunately, I don't have that luxury the first time around so all I can do is ask questions.

I've read you're looking for a 50/50 ratio of red/brown hairs to white hairs. I've also read you have to go by the trichome color etc. I would say based on my reading they probably go pretty closely together.

I've started seeing a few brown hairs on my buds now. No where close to the 50/50 ratio, but I'm curious how quickly they start changing? I'm growing White Widow and I just finished my 8th week of flowering. I just want to make sure I allow myself enough time to flush, etc. before harvesting. I'm just curious on average once you see the first few hairs change how quickly the others usually follow.

try this for you first harvest.

at 25% red havest a few good branches
at 50% red harvest a few more
at 75% red harvest the rest.

that way you can see the type of buzz you like.

if you have more then 1 plant try apple jusic in one to see if you like it.

That's a good idea and good information.
However, I would still like to know if anyone has information in regards to times. General rough estimate in getting from the first few red hairs 25% to 50% to 75%.

Im too in about my 8th week close to flowering cause bottom leaves are turning yellow and falling off.. So Ill keep an eye on this thread to know when would be the optimum time to harvest my plant??the hairs on it are still mostly white so I know theres a while left and I have a 30x magna to check out the trichomes to see when they start turning amber in color

i prefer to let them get more amber and let them pack on some more weight until they are fully ready to harvest

but you could miss the optimum point of harvesting if you let them get too amber.. and the green will give you that lethargic high(aslo known as couch lock), instead of the more up high. And It could also lose potency if you miss the best time for harvest

i dont think its gona lose much of its potency unless it finishes off dies and starts to dry on its
the tricombs might fall of very crystallized part of the bud

but i dont think your gona miss its optimum harvest time just harvest when you think its ready

I've been flowering under 400 Watt HPS for about about 36 days. Seeds from Nirvana "snow white"
I don't seem to be getting any of the red hairs that customarily show up when you are getting close to harvest. Some trics appear to be getting cloudy (@60X) but I also don't seem to have as many trics as I have had with other strains in the past. Is this characteristic of Snow White? I've never grown it before.

Any input is appreciated.

9 to 11 weeks of flower for harvest is a good guess. but each stain and grow conditions will have an effect.

this link i have 2 clones grown the same. at havest the first is 25% then the other about a week later at 75% Harvest
