I have read numerous pages worth of material on flavor curing, i myself am thinking of curing some of my blueberry with a blueberry flavor enhancer but havent found anything that would work. i suppose crushed blueberries wrapped in lots of cheese cloth would work.

The idea i had was to use truffles to cure. This would be the upscale weed of the century and i bet it would sell well in LA and vegas lol. My dream is to one day own a truffle farm in the Willamette valley in NW oregon and grow white truffles to compete with the french market. the truffle market is still in its infancy 9it takes 7 years for a hazlenut trees and the spores to mature)..dreams will be dreams though

well its pretty simple once you think about it. Truffles have a seriousl intense odor that has been known to stink up a house with just a sall 2 inch truffle. (even more potent than weed). Truffles depend on animals to dig them up and spread the pores to other foliage (such as the hazlenut tree) so they depend on their odour. They are highly valued because of their unique taste and time it takes to grow.

The method i would use would be to take a few slices off of a truffle bought at a locale upscale market and take and slice them and wrap them in cheese clothe and put in with the weed during curing. Weed has the ability to absorb smell very well. Have you ever stored your weed with a swisher sweet or menthol and then smoked the weed and it tasted like the swisher? I might have to try it once i find 50 bucks to drop on a golfball size black truffle!! truffles also lose potency and flavour over time so storage for later cures is out of the question. bon appetite

Heres a link to 1/4 lb of oregon black truffles on a great site that sells truffles. Im thinking of going with the oregon black truffle seeing as it is 1/3 the price of the blacks imported from italy. Its already the end of winter truffle season, but there are still great truffles out there.

Im really considering getting the white truffle oil or the dark truffle oil as well and i think the honey would be a mess.

im thinking the best way would be to soak some paper towel, and then wrap that in cheese clothe. i dont want to get the oil on the bud i just want it in the jars with it so the smell can be exchanged.

Ill be trying it on an ounce of some bud ill be harvesting in a little over a month. If the truffle oil dosent work than ill give it to my bro whos a cook for his b-day lollll

I would have to say that adding things to your weed during curing is not a good idea. If you like certain smells and tastes, take a look at the flavor chart/wheel on the greenhouse website. You can match up flavor with strain.

this sounds cool but like do truffles smell good? if they smell like normal mushrooms i would not buy weed that smelled like that.. try strawberry or orange peel slivers.

I think that is a bold statement saying that adding in a flavor during curing is a bad idea without ever had tried it or even know what ill effects might result. I would say let him experiment and he may just have a revolutional idea with no ill effects just a smoother sweet smelling smoke. Just MHO dude.

I think what may have been overlooked is that the idea of flavoring pot is nothing new. Back in the 60’s and 70’s people were trying the same things as people today think up but because everyone think they have come up with something new and because there is no real recorded history of the time people always think they just invented the wheel. The point being that for decades many people have experiments and so far no one has come up with a way that is sure fire and practical so the odds are not great that tomorrow someone will stumble across something that hasn’t been tried before.

I have tried something similar to this several times. Never with blueberries although I have used Citrus fruits and even kool-aid (Both I Regret). If you have some that tastes like blueberry in the first place I would stick with it as is. Years ago I found out the hard way not to mess with your pot! I always would have rather had it the way it was when I got it. Good luck to you
