I plan on harvesting my first indoor crop on friday. now i know to check the trichs which are milky/ amber about 70/30 now. but where i have questions is the lower buds that dont get much light,should i cut the tops off and leave the lower stuff for another week? will it help them plump up? half of the hairs on the lower stuff are still white and the buds are way less dense then the tops. I just dont know if its worth the hassle to harvest twice, can anyone tell me from experiance. +rep to all that help

you can take the buds that are ready while leaving the less mature buds to fully mature

Thats I would do, just keep an eye out on the lower buds (trichs). Being I dislike having small buds and top half finishing before bottom, I use the fim method and have a nice even canopy of many bid buds.

yeah i got the same question.
ive noticed my sativa pheno seems to develop more consistently than the indica, concerning the maturity of the main cola vs side branches.
so im kind of picking off nugs as they get to peak maturity, mainly the top colas. then im gonna harvest the rest of the plant all at once.
