Hi all -

Getting ready to harvest. . . I think but I have a question.

My trich's don't really look amber, just cloudy, but the calyx's are getting so big they're bursting open. Is that normal? Here are a few pics. They aren't very clear but you can see the open calyx in some areas.

Does that mean I need to harvest?

Ok, but what about the calyx's breaking open? Is that okay? Do I have a problem? Is that normal?

I've read that if the pistils are looking dead then it is too late to harvest, like you lost all the good stuff or something. Is that true?

Mine aren't dead but some of them are looking brown and kind of thirsty.

thats not true at all it goes by the trich color like u said earlier. looks like u have at least a month of flowering left if you want sum weight on those buds. then on top of that 4 weeks of drying/curing. go buy a nice big bag of dope and be patient my friend. do u use soil? if so then start adding molasses to ur water. 1tbs per gallon. that will give you some dense sticky ass buds. good luck bro.

Wow none of you guys noticed that the buds are seeded, thats also why the hairs turned orange so early.

That sucks man figure out where the male is or the plant must be a hermie.

You look like you got a couple weeks regardless

Yea, means you got a hermie. Or a seeded female. You may get some bud off of it but don't keep it around if you have any other females around. It will polinate them and you will loose all your bud.

So you're saying if it gets seeded it's ruined? I've smoked seedy weed before and got a nice high off of it.

Actually I seeded it purposely because I want some seeds for later grows and I can't keep a mother around because of house guests, etc. coming in.

I have another question though. I've got a male plant and I've chopped it down a bit because I didn't want it to take up room from my seedy female, but now he's got hairs growing out of the top of him. Is that normal or did he hermie out? Can a male hermie out too?
