Well I've been reading up lots on topping and everything else lately as my babies are getting nearer to harvest and I have a new batch about to meet soil

So when you top a plant you usually cut it down to the first or second true nodes because the plant will go from directing it's main efforts into the single cola, to the 2 or four shoots it has left. HOWEVER this is all supposed to be done in the veg stage, and usually earlier then later...

I was wondering what exactly would happen if you cut the cola off a plant that is in the flowering stage already, would it simply start budding more on all the other shoots and budpoints or what?

I'm sure this has been asked before and I think I remember seeing something about it a lonnnggg time ago but I'd really like to know thanks

it wouldn't be a smart idea to top after they start flowering, the idea is to get the plant where you want it before it starts it's 12/12 cycle. so some time in the veg. stage where theres a healthy amount of foliage growth, usually I top the plants after it reaches it's 5th - 6th node then cut right above the 2nd true node to achieve 4 colas, or above the 1st true node for 2 colas.

it would definitely stress the plant too much that would result in a smaller yield, I suppose if your plants are really resistant to stress it might promote some lower growth, but I can't imagine it would be a noticeable amount and it really would probably only stunt your further bud growth. hope that helps =)

A flowering plant will not grow any new nodes or buds if you cut the cola.
Like you said it's supposed to be done in the veg stage.
Cutting a baby cola off is just reducing yield.
just sit back and watch that cola get big and dank

next plant I do is getting topped though I can't wait to try that out
