Question About Storing Bud
What's the best way to store bud for long periods of time. I'm not talking about years and years, just a month, tops. I hate it when my weed gets all dried out and crumbly.

A sealed air-tight glass jar that's not much bigger than what it's holding kept in a cool dark place.

aggreed, properly dried and cured weed will be bone dry but not crumbly, and kept in an air tight jar should stay good for a few months tops but if you need longer you can freeze, but it has to be bone dry..

Don't freeze the weed!
Even a refrigerator can be too cold. Just cool(40-50F), dry(30% RH), dark(100%) place.

It is not the cold that hurts weed in a freezer but the dryness, the lack of humidity.
If someone has a vacuum packing setup, like my brother in law uses for his venison, you can freeze weed and it will last a long time.
It still is NOT the best way to store weed but if done right it can be done. The singular real advantage to freezing it is if your weed it not totally dried freezing it will keep it from molding.
If you cannot totally seal it then you had better not do it and instead refrigerate it, in something very tightly sealed, or best keep it in jars in a cool dark area but either way be sure that your weed is totally dry or else it will mold.

The guys I talk to that I'm positive 'know their shit' say freezing is unacceptable for high quality bud.

Underground?
Would it be possible to harvest an outdoor plot completely outdoors?
I mean cut down, trim, dry, and even cure outdoors, on or around the plot.
Could you store the nugs underground in jars?

I've heard of farmers drying in their barns.
Bugs might be an issue.
I don't think dryness kills or harms THC. It's hydrophobic, and a lipid. You could have it completely dry and it'll just be a powder, every bit as potent. Freezing it will cause fractures on the lipids, and will degrade THC.
The reason a small amount of moisture is desired is for a smoother, less harsh smoke. I'd take harsh dry smoke over moldy smoke any day!
